Jeffrey Hunt Sedgewick, M.D.

Dr. Jeffrey Hunt Sedgewick is a highly accomplished, Board Certified Ophthalmologist and one of the few doctors in the United States to hold both the Medical Doctor (M.D.) and Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degrees. He has been practicing in the Dulles, Virginia area since October 2002.

Ophthalmology Residency: Completed at Louisiana State University Medical Center and Alton Oschner Clinic. He consistently demonstrated superior knowledge with OKAP scores in the 97th, 91st, and 96th percentiles.

Doctor of Optometry (O.D.): Illinois College of Optometry, Chicago, IL.

Undergraduate: Bachelor of Arts in Biology with Departmental Honors from Oakland University.

Dr. Sedgewick is dedicated to educating future generations of medical professionals:

Clinical Professor: He holds roles as a Clinical Associate Professor at Georgetown University and an Assistant Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.

Chief of Ophthalmology, USAF: He served as Chief of Ophthalmology for the United States Air Force at Fairchild AFB, Spokane, WA and Andrews AFB, Maryland.

Flight Surgeon: He previously served in the Air Force as a Flight Surgeon at Minot AFB, North Dakota , where he was awarded the Commendation Medal and was the Chief of Occupational Medicine for 100 shops.

Published Author
A respected voice in ophthalmology, Dr. Sedgewick has contributed to medical literature, including serving as the first author on an article in the Journal of Cataract Refractive Surgery. He is also the author of the textbook, Build Your Own Medical Optometry Practice Part 1: Medical Knowledge.

Dr. Sedgewick and his wife, Roya, are the proud parents of Justin, Brandon, and Elizabeth.
